Kiln Stacking Sticks

DLH offers drying operations an excellent way to save costs and drying
degrade. We offer Keruing, Balau and Kapur sticks which are often refer-
red to as "Apitong", as well as Brazilian Hardwood Sticks. The attribute
of these sticks are that they last nearly three times longer than sticks made
from domestic species with typically less sticker stain.

These species have long proven themselves as both truck flooring and
decking, along with their use in kiln sticks. The wood is dense with long
fibers and interlocked grain. Since these sticks are cut from straight butt
logs, they are free of knots with very minor grain deviation. They are
durable, decay resistant and stay straight even after multiple uses at
high temperatures of over 200 degrees.

Since domestic sticks are produced from #1 and #2 Common lumber, they
contain a large amount of knots and excessive grain deviation. This causes
a high percentage of the sticks to break with their initial use in a kiln charge
and a continued high percentage to break in later charges. Apitong sticks
last through many more charges and are proven to be a better investment.

We offer both flat and fluted sticks in many sizes to fill your needs. For
more information please contact us.
